The main purpose of this workshop was to present and discuss the evolutions in the national regulations related to summer comfort and cooling:

• In terms of standards for achieving good summer comfort
• For improving energy efficiency during the summer period
• Regarding building solar control
• Regarding amortisation and dissipation techniques
• Regarding night time ventilation for passive cooling
• Regarding (free) cooling techniques

Also, to reply the following questions :

• What are experiences with compliances of regulations?
• What are major trends in the type of systems used?
• Is there a framework for the assessing of innovative passive cooling and low energy cooling systems?
